Champion Team – Lucky Dog Racing
The ninth season of the LROC series was run in 2014 with Lucky Dog Racing, P10 Select and The Cool Pool battling each other for a fifth season. Lucky Dog Racing was coming off a great season in 2013 where they completely dominated like no team had done before. Quite a few drivers returned from previous seasons but there were a few new faces like Randy Cook and Jack Thesier for Luvky Dog Racing, Joanne Sebastian & David Baartman for P10 Select and Nate Bishop for The Cool Pool.
Kevin Sullivan kicked things off in race #1 under The Cool Pool while Lucky Dog Racing began where they left off last year, on top of the standings. Lucky Dog Racing had a good start by winning the first 2 races but wouldn’t run off like they did last year. P10 Select won races #3, 4 & 6. The Cool Pool’s first win came in race #8. Despite the close start to the season, Lucky Dog Racing remained on top of the standings all year long. They were able to win their 4th title.
The battle of the drivers were mostly between Brian Blair, Lou Demian and Greg Miller all year long. Brian led most of the year but gave up the lead the 2nd to the last race of the year to Lou Demian. Lou was able to hold the lead at Homestead and won his first LROC Championship. Brian Blair finished 2nd and Greg Miller 3rd. The Cool Pool also finished 2nd in the standings and P10 Select 3rd.
At the end of the season The Cool Pool announced they would not be returning to the series in what will be the league’s tenth season.
